Getting away from family in order to establish your own separate identity is one of the great opportunities of university. However this isn’t possible for everyone. To have the support of family while at university is a big advantage but this privilege isn’t available for all either. You may feel different to other students who are close to their families and find your self esteem is affected by your past, or you may miss your family and living away from home for the first time. You may not be able to get away from your family or you may be thousands of miles away from them. Family or no family, everyone is affected by family relationships.
