Pride Month 2024

Pride Month 2024

Our Sheffield Hallam Progress Pride flag flies proudly in Hallam Square all year round. The Student Wellbeing Team are proud to be allies / members of the LGBTQIA+ community and take pleasure in supporting students to be and express their individual authentic self as regards to sexuality and gender identity.

If you identify as LGBTQIA+ and are celebrating, we wish you a happy Pride. We also understand that celebrating might not be where an individual is at. Whether you are celebrating or unable to celebrate, take a moment to really accept yourself just as you are. This includes knowing that your expression of your identity is absolutely fine. Not everyone has the privilege of being able to be out of the closet and different people choose to express their identity in different ways at different times. There are no “shoulds” and acceptance starts with ourselves.

We offer support to all students. Our Report and Support services work with all types of assault, hate crime and bullying, including homophobia or transphobia. Estranged students can access extra help and those suffering with low mood or anxiety can have support from our service. You can also request a practitioner who identifies as LGBT+ if you register with us for a 1:1 appointment.
