LinkedIn Learning is an online learning platform that enables you find and improve business, technological, and creative skills through course videos that are expert-led.
Learn about your subject of interest by exploring more than 5,000 courses with tailored suggestions. Once you've finished these courses, you may add them to your LinkedIn profile. Students can choose from a variety of courses and learning pathways that include anything from employability skills to particular technical abilities to stress management strategies.
For a dedicated learner, LinkedIn Learning is well worth the investment. If you want to acquire excellent employment skills but do not want to seek certifications or degrees at a university, this is a great alternative for you! The cost of LinkedIn Learning, on the other hand, may be prohibitive for those who are only casually interested in learning.
However, LinkedIn Learning is available to all students and staff at Sheffield Hallam University for FREE!
Use your SHU email address to establish an account or log in using the SHU portal. To create an account with your SHU email, you can visit the Hallam Digital Skills website. There you will find a step-by-step PDF instruction guide on how to create an account.
After creating your account you can access LinkedIn Learning at go.shu.ac.uk/linkedinlearning
You will need to enter your University Username and Password. Then, you'll be asked if you'd prefer to login using your LinkedIn account instead. When prompted, either pick ‘Connect my LinkedIn account’ if you have one OR continue without linking your LinkedIn account. However, if you wish for your certificates to be displayed on LinkedIn, you must first connect your account. Logging in may also be required if you have linked your LinkedIn and LinkedIn Learning accounts and you may also be asked to confirm your identity for the LinkedIn platform.
Alternatively, you may download the LinkedIn Learning App on your Android or Apple mobile devices.
Three primary categories for the courses available are Business, Creative and Technology. Along with these, there is another section specifically for Sheffield Hallam University students. In the SHU section, you'll discover a list of the university's most valuable skills, such as "Job Search" and "Career Development". You can choose from a variety of courses ranging from statistics to time management and SEO.
My personal favourites from the career development section include: Body Language for Leaders by Carol Kinsey Goman, Strategic Thinking by Dorie Clark and Communicating with Confidence by Jeff Ansell. I have also attended courses related to Advanced Excel and Graphic Designing.
Data and insights from over 500 million users of LinkedIn.com are used to propose the most appropriate courses for the abilities known to be vital in a specific job function or role. As evidence of your professional progress, you may post finished course certificates to your LinkedIn profile.
Due to the fact that the courses are available online, you may access them from any device, such as a desktop, mobile phone, or tablet. It's like being able to learn on the move.
