Our open days are busy and lively events, and to help you avoid particularly busy times and spaces, we have suggested a programme below which aims to give you a quieter experience.
If you have contacted us about reasonable adjustments for the day, we will contact you separately.
On this page: Accessibility • Quiet rooms • Arriving and leaving • Check-in • Talks • Asking questions at the event • Sending your questions and requests in advance
Accessibility
You can visit the AccessAble website for detailed accessibility information about the university buildings.
Quiet Rooms
There are designated quiet rooms for the event, you can use them whenever you want to. A member of staff will be able to take you there or direct you to them on the day of the event.
Arriving and leaving
You do not need to arrive exactly for the start time of the event, but we recommend giving yourself at least 15 minutes between arriving and the start of your first talk; you may need to give yourself additional time to travel to your next talk if it is at a different area of campus.
You can come and go from the talk sessions - arrive late, leave early, and move around during the sessions. Feel free to wear headphones and/or tinted glasses. You can leave at any time throughout the event.
Check-in
You can check in at any time during the event. We will ask you for your booking confirmation email with your QR code to check you in, this is so that we know you have attended and can then send you information, about what to do next after attending an open day.
Don’t worry if you haven’t got your confirmation email, we can check you in with your name instead. To avoid the crowds when checking in, you can come back at a different time before the end of the event.
At the applicant open days on 15 February, 22 March and 27 April 2025, Owen Level 5 and Heart of the Campus registration points won't be busy from 1.30pm
At the postgraduate open day on 12 March 2025, Owen Level 5 and Head Post Office registration points will be quieter from around 6pm whilst the Level 2 Atrium registration point will be the busiest due to being located near the course stands. At check-in we will also give you a voucher to receive a free tea or coffee.
Talks
If you want to avoid busy talks then alternatively you can visit our website for further information on studying at Hallam.
To find out more about life as a student at Hallam, you can also speak to any of our student ambassadors as well as a range of support service teams available on the day.
You can also speak to our members of staff on our course stands, or search our courses online.
