Volunteering is a great way to help out in the community, meet new people, develop skills and confidence, and impress potential employers. There is a proud tradition of volunteering among Hallam students and there are a number of ways you can get involved.
Whether you'd like to volunteer at local events, gain experience through a long-term role in the community, volunteer at festivals, or something else, our Students' Union can help you find the opportunity you're looking for.
There are loads of ways to get involved:
Even if you only have an hour or less a week to spare, you'll have hundreds of chances to make a difference. Students who volunteer through the Students' Union can also log their hours via their volunteering profile and work towards volunteering awards. If you have any questions about volunteering or would like to chat to a member of the team, email volunteering@shu.ac.uk.
Your volunteering can also count towards the Hallam Award, an official record of your extra-curricular achievements. For more information about how volunteering can count towards your Hallam Award, contact the careers team on careers@shu.ac.uk.
