Muhammad Umar from Pakistan studied BEng (Hons) Electrical Engineering Top-Up on a Transform Together Scholarship.

'I have always been fascinated by how machines work. I remember, in my childhood, whenever I got new toys, I was curious to see what was inside and took out the lights and motors to make my own circuits with limited resources and even more limited knowledge. This developed my interest to study Engineering.'

'After doing a lot of research, I found out that Sheffield Hallam University was the only university that is offering a one-year BEng (Hons) top-up degree accredited by IET and Engineering Council. The course was accredited and very well planned. I liked all the modules I studied, especially the practical side of them.'

'Unfortunately, due to Covid all classes and labs were online, so I did not move to Sheffield. However, I visited Sheffield a few times and found it to be a very good town.'

'I found out about the Transform Together scholarship from the Sheffield Hallam University website and found the application process straightforward. I was over the moon to found out that my application was successful and I was awarded the Transform Together scholarship.' 

'I would like to pay special thanks to the university for awarding me the Transform Together Scholarship. I would not have been able to afford my BEng course fees without the scholarship. After attending the university, not only have I gained the BEng degree, but I also participated in many activities which helped me in my personal development.'
