'I planned and pitched a real campaign'
Muhammad Sameer Choudhry worked with Objective Creative, a leading B2B marketing agency, as part of his MA Digital Media Management course. The project exposed him to a real brief in a fast-paced agency environment, culminating in a face-to-face client pitch.
‘Working with Objective was one of the most important professional experiences I had at university. I helped develop a fundraising campaign for Sheffield Mind, a mental health charity. It gave me a chance to lead a team and work as a social media manager for a real client. I used Google Ads and Facebook Ads Manager in my pitch to show how the budget allocation would be done, and how we’d target different types of ads across Facebook and Instagram.
‘Working in an agency environment gave me transferable teamwork, planning and decision-making skills, and really helped to bring out my creativity. The most valuable part was the final pitch, where I presented to Sheffield Mind. It gave me a sense of responsibility and ownership of my work – I was making a real business decision for the client.’
‘We’re delighted to work with Sheffield Hallam students on live briefs and assignments. We invited them to join the Objective marketing, creative and digital teams to experience work in a busy agency environment. The Objective team also deliver lectures on campus.’
