'My studies at Hallam are a career highlight'
Duncan Hogg is a Chartered Architectural Technologist and Associate at Bond Bryan Architects. Before that, he studied both his BSc and MSc Architectural Technology degrees at Sheffield Hallam. After completing his postgraduate studies in 2008, he became chartered in 2009 and an Associate of his current practice in 2017. More recently, he acted as lead designer during the construction phase of Sheffield Hallam’s Charles Street Building which completed in spring 2016.
'I chose to study at Sheffield Hallam as the city and university were very welcoming and the course was accredited by the Chartered Institute of Architectural Technologists (CIAT). The lecturers and tutors were knowledgeable and friendly and I found the course content interesting and inspiring.
'After working at Bond Bryan Architects for around 5 years I thought it would be beneficial for the practice and myself to further develop my academic understanding of technical and environmental design. I therefore undertook a part-time master's degree at Sheffield Hallam between 2006 -2008.
'In 2006 Bond Bryan Architects won a design competition held by Sheffield Hallam for their new city centre campus building on Charles Street. My main role on this project was to manage the delivery of the architectural design packages during the construction phase through to completion. Delivering the Charles Street building for Sheffield Hallam was a fantastic experience and along with my studies at Hallam are a career highlight.'
