'It's hard to put into words how much the scholarship has meant to me'

Caitlyn Meyers from the USA studies MA Education on a Transform Together Scholarship.

'It’s hard to put into word just how much the scholarship has meant to me.'

'Not only have I been able to attend Sheffield Hallam University but during my time here my focus has been able to be my studies, instead of my financial obligations.'

'I’m part of the MA Education course which has been absolutely incredible, I have learnt so much about the education sector, my professors, tutors and supervisors have been so supportive, even through these difficult times.'

'I’ve had a chance to connect with some of my peers, as well as other international students. I’m an international student ambassador which means I help new international students transition into Sheffield and the UK in general which has been so much fun. The Sheffield community is so great. Even during the pandemic we’ve had opportunities to go to parks and explore the city and as things open up we’ve been able to go to great restaurants, cafés, pubs and museums and all the great things the city has to offer. Not to mention the fact that the Peak District is basically our back yard which means we always have great access to beautiful English countryside.'

'I chose Sheffield Hallam in part because of its reputation for support, whether that be career development or mental wellbeing. The University has helped me in my career development as a student ambassador.'

'After I finish my studies I hope to be part of the new graduate route and work either in the Museum education sector or the higher education sector. Universities have been such a big part of my life and Sheffield Hallam has been no different. I’ve had such positive experiences and I would love other students to have those same experiences.'

'I really can’t thank the Transform Together Scholarship enough for giving me these opportunities and experiences, so thank you, and I hope you have the opportunity to apply to this wonderful scholarship.'
