We have an overall satisfaction rating of 85% for postgraduate taught courses in the 2024 Postgraduate Taught Experience Survey and 83% for our postgraduate research courses in the 2024 Postgraduate Research Experience Survey.

6. Brand new facilities
In the summer of 2025, we're opening three new buildings with world-class teaching, learning and research facilities. These include new homes for Sheffield Business School, the Institute of Law and Justice, Institute of Social Sciences and the Architecture subject group from the Institute of Creative Industries.
The buildings will be net-zero ready. We’ve added sustainability features like heat pumps and solar panels. Meanwhile, the new Hallam Green will enhance public space and biodiversity in the city centre.

8. Access to funding and scholarships
If you live in England and you’re starting your degree in the 2025/6 academic year, you can apply for a postgraduate loan of up to £12,858 for a masters and £30,301 for PhDs. If you’re applying from overseas, we offer a range of scholarships for international students.*
Home or international students who have completed a full-time undergraduate or postgraduate degree, PGCE or PhD at Sheffield Hallam or earned a Sheffield Hallam accredited degree from one of our UK and overseas partners in the 2023-24 and 2024-25 academic years will be eligible for a £2,000 discount on fees for a full-time or distance-learning postgraduate courses starting in the 2025-26 academic year.
If your course isn't eligible for this offer or you completed your course before 2023 you may also be eligible for an alumni scholarship.
