Your contract with the University for your programme of study is subject to the University's Terms and Conditions and student regulations.  There are a number of key pieces of information we would like to draw your attention to at this stage with full details available via the link below.

Notional study hours

The University normally expects students to undertake 10 notional study hours for each academic credit studied.  Within the notional study hours is included your contact hours, which may include lectures, seminars, online learning via the University's virtual learning environment, tutorials, project supervision, demonstrations, practical classes and workshops, and self-direct study as appropriate to your module or course. 

Timetable changes

Please note that the University cannot guarantee that delivery will take place as set out within the module descriptions and reserves the right to make variations to this provisional timetable.  Any such variations are likely to be made if they are reasonably considered to be necessary by the University, for example, as a result of an event beyond the University's reasonable control; where information technology systems require essential repairs, maintenance work or upgrades; where health and safety or other legal reasons apply; or where improvements or changes are being made to the University's estate and facilities.

Changes to the advertised module or short course

The University reserves the right to make changes to the information provided about your module or short course at any time up to the date 28 calendar days before the start date.  Changes are usually made for one or more of the following reasons

  • to make updates to the module or short course to reflect best practice or new academic developments and to refresh curricula to ensure currency for the benefit of students
  • to improve and enhance students' experience, or to incorporate changes arising from student feedback for the benefit of students
  • to meet external, professional or accrediting boy requirements and/or
  • to safeguard academic standards

The University's website will be updated as soon as is reasonably practicable to reflect changes to the module or short course.

Prospective students (ie an individual who has accepted a place at the University, conditionally or unconditionally and who has not yet enrolled for their first Academic Year at the University) will be notified as soon as is reasonably practicable that there have been changes to the module or short course.
