Online Distance Learning
Many of our CPD modules are delivered via online distance learning. This is a rewarding and flexible way to learn; you study when and where you like, so learning can fit around your personal and working life. Modules are structured to allow you to work through the learning activities at a pace that suits you.
We'll help you to prepare for this type of learning through our online induction package. This helps you to develop and practice your skills, and gain confidence in expressing your digital voice in a range of contexts. It will also help you to set up your PC, laptop or tablet to access the learning resources. If any issues or concerns arise at this point we'll support you to address them before you begin your module.
As a distance learning student, there is no requirement for campus attendance. You do however need reliable internet access to allow you to participate in our online learning community either from home, work or on the move.
We believe that learning really 'sticks' when it arises from peer discussion and debate. Our learning content is designed to act as a catalyst for online dialogue where resources, practice and ideas are shared. As well as providing an active learning experience, your module will enable you, other students and your tutors to interact via discussion forums, blogs and social media tools.
Face-to-Face Learning
Some of our modules are delivered by face-to-face learning, which requires attendance at one of our campuses in Sheffield. Teaching is delivered as group lectures or tutorial group sessions in either classrooms or our in our state-of-the-art simulation suites.
Blended Learning
A small number of our modules are delivered via blended learning, which involves a limited number of face-to-face study days supported by self-directed online distance learning activities.
