As a student in Sheffield Hallam University you have free access to online academic skills resources to help you get started with your studies, develop your expertise in skills essential for learning, and build the personal and professional skills to take you forward in life.

 

SkillsCheck

The Library’s Skills Centre offer an interactive online SkillsCheck which is a self-evaluation tool that allows you to reflect on your academic skills, identify your priorities for development and will produce a personalised action plan.

 

Turnitin Draft Coach

All students have access to Turnitin Draft Coach as an add-on in Microsoft Word, which checks grammar and citations alongside similarity checks to help avoid unintentional plagiarism.

 

Skills for Study

All students have access to Skills for Study which is an interactive e-learning resource. It helps you develop effective study skills, such as critical thinking and academic writing. 


 

Studiosity

Postgraduate students can access a service called Studiosity – an online Writing Feedback service which provides feedback on language, structure, spelling and grammar.
