How we get your exam results
We will usually get your results automatically if you are taking:
- A levels
- Access to HE
- BTECs
- OCR
- T-Levels
- UAL
- WJEC
- Scottish and Irish Highers
- International Baccalaureate.
Other qualifications
For other qualifications, email us an official copy of your results, which should be either an official certificate or statement of results, along with your:
- full name,
- date of birth,
- UCAS ID number,
- course details.
Send UK qualifications to admissions-results@shu.ac.uk with the subject line 'Results'.
Send international qualifications to clearing-international@shu.ac.uk with the subject line 'Overseas results'.
Checking our decision
When we have your results, our decision should appear in UCAS Hub on 15 August.
If you receive your results before 15 August, send them to admissions-results@shu.ac.uk with subject line 'Results'.
If you don't see a decision in the UCAS Hub after 15 August and you have sent us your results, call us on 0330 024 6390.
Missing your offer grades
If you don't get the grades in your offer, it doesn't always mean you will not get in.
We might:
- still offer you a place, or
- make you an offer for a different course.
If we offer you an alternative course, you will see this on the UCAS Hub and you will have 5 days to accept the offer on the UCAS Hub.
If you don’t accept it within 5 days, it will be automatically declined on your behalf.
Unsuccessful applications
If we don't offer you a place, you can still apply through clearing for a different course.
Alternatively, if you think there is evidence we have made a mistake, you can appeal against our decision.
Deferrals and course changes
If you already have a place with us, you don’t have to enter clearing if you want to be considered for different course with us. You just need to email your request for us to consider it.
To request a deferral or change of course, email us at coursechangerequest@shu.ac.uk, putting 'Defer' or 'Change of course' in the subject line, and including your:
- full name,
- date of birth,
- UCAS ID number,
- course details.
We can't promise to offer you a deferral or course change. We will consider the request and email you when we have made a decision.
What next?
If you've been confirmed, visit our pages on preparing for university. They will help you think about uni essentials like money, healthcare, and accommodation.
We'll invite you to enrol by email about two weeks before your course begins.
