Our Strength and Conditioning Suite is a place where athletes from all backgrounds come together to unlock their full potential. Delivering to our university Sports Clubs, both competitive and social, and supporting performance athletes on the Performance Athlete Support Programme (PASP) and Talented Athlete Scholarship Scheme (TASS), as well as local professional clubs, we offer a welcoming and supportive environment that fosters a culture of inclusivity. Here, athletes of all abilities feel empowered to pursue their physical goals with confidence.

What is strength and conditioning?

Strength and Conditioning (S&C) is the practical application of sports science designed to enhance athletic performance and reduce the risk of injury. It involves a comprehensive approach that combines strength & power training, conditioning, mobility, robustness, and recovery strategies tailored to the specific needs of athletes. 

At Sport Hallam, our S&C programs are crafted by experienced coaches to help you achieve your full potential, whether you're training for competition or seeking to improve your overall fitness.

Services we provide

At Sport Hallam, we offer a range of Strength and Conditioning (S&C) services tailored to enhance athletic performance and minimise the risk of injury. Our dedicated team works closely with athletes, coaches, and our multidisciplinary practitioner team; in Physiotherapy, Sport Psychology, Personal Development & Lifestyle support, and Nutrition, to deliver athlete centred support.

Our services include:

  • Team Training Programs: Tailored S&C programs designed to meet the specific needs and goals of each sport club, including regular training sessions and performance monitoring - working collaboratively with sport coaches.
  • High-Performance Pathways: Specialised programs for talented athletes, including those in the Talented Athlete Scholarship Scheme (TASS) and the Performance Athlete Support Programme (PASP), offering advanced training and recovery protocols through one-to-one coaching.
  • Facilities Access: Exclusive training facilities available for all athletes, providing the tools needed for effective strength and conditioning training.
  • Student Applied Opportunities: One of the largest S&C Internships in the UK, providing mentorship and education for our Lead and Junior coaches (Please see current opportunities here or using the link below)
