Joe Miller
A cross-national examination of career transition preparedness in young elite athletes
Joe's research focuses on young high-performance athletes, and aims to explore how the talent development environment they compete within supports their development in non-athletic domains and prepares them for life both inside and out of sport. Specifically, his research will examine and compare the English football academy, Canadian Hockey League, and National Collegiate Athletic Association environments, in hopes of identifying best practices and promising recommendations to support the development of their young competitors.
Joe was a graduate teaching assistant at the University of Windsor from 2019 to 2021. He received Bachelor of Arts - Psychology and Master of Human Kinetics - Sport Management from the University of Windsor.
In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his wife and son, coaching football, gaming, and travelling.
