Biomechanical adaptations to changes in bicycle set-up in elite track cyclists

Collaborative PhD project with the UK Sports Institute and British Cycling.

The project aims to investigate the acute and chronic effects of handlebar and saddle position changes on rider position and biomechanics during aerodynamic track cycling.

Daniel was recently elected as Student Director for the International Society of Biomechanics in Sport (ISBS), representing fellow student delegates within the ISBS Board of Directors.

Prior to his PhD, he achieved First Class Honours in Sport and Exercise Science BSc and a Distinction in Sport and Clinical Biomechanics MSc at Liverpool John Moores University. He was awarded the highest overall research project mark in MSc cohort.

His main research interests are cycling biomechanics, biomechanics in applied sport, and biomechanics of footwear and novel clothing technologies. In his spare time, Daniel enjoys cycling, weight training, reading, travelling and mixing house music.
