Asylum seekers face many hurdles to find sanctuary in the UK and are faced with numerous challenges. Alumni, students and staff ran the Sheffield 10k on Sunday 25th September in support of these students.

Thanks to the kindness of the Sheffield City Polytechnic ULE Class of 1979 (now Sheffield Hallam University), a new life-transforming scholarship is being created in the Department for the Natural and Built Environment.

The Sir Michael and Lady Morven Heller Bursary financially support students to pursue an interest or a hobby that is completely outside of their area of academic study that they are passionate about. Since last year, the Hallam Fund has matched Heller donations to double the number of students that can be supported.
