Our Social science and geography outreach activities are designed to engage and inspire students, giving them an insight into student life and supporting decisions about next steps after school or college.

Activities include on-campus masterclasses and taster days, and off-campus talks, for post-16 students. Many activities can also be adapted for a pre-16 audience.

Psychology masterclasses and taster days give students the opportunity to explore the science of thoughts, feelings and behaviour, and learn more about specialist routes at Sheffield Hallam. Masterclasses can also be adapted to align to students’ interests or curriculum.

Our sociology masterclasses and taster days cover a range of topics including beliefs and values, health and crime.


Politics and international relations

Politics and international relations

 

Hot topics are short virtual talks, focusing on current affairs in the world of politics and International Relations, from the politics of charity to the global impact of war.


Geography

Geography

 

Geography and environmental science taster days are available on-campus for Y12, Y13 and Access students. These full-day, interactive experiences provide students with insight into key topics including climate change and sustainability.
