At Sheffield Hallam, outreach activities comprise of talks and workshops, alongside subject specific activity and on-campus visits.  All of our activities are suitable for Year 12, Year 13 and Mature Students.

Talks

Talks typically last 30 minutes and can be delivered to an unlimited number of students, often in an assembly-style setting.

Workshops

Our workshops are designed to provide students with a more interactive and engaging experience building on our talk content. Workshops are typically delivered to groups of up to 30 students in classroom-style settings and last around 60 minutes. 

Which course should I do? 

A practical exploration of students’ unique skills and interests, identifying how these may align with relevant undergraduate courses. 

What makes a good personal statement? 

Learn about the key elements of a good personal statement and begin to apply this knowledge in our hands-on workshop.

How do I budget at university?

Cover the basic costs that students may face at university, giving students the opportunity to plan a budget with real life examples.

How do I apply for a degree apprenticeship? 

A detailed insight into the application process for degree apprenticeships, with information around searching for vacancies as well as reviewing how to put an application together.

An opportunity to explore some of the main concerns that we hear from students with practical activities to help students feel more prepared for university.

On Campus Visits

On-campus visits provide students with the opportunity to view our fantastic facilities whilst engaging in a range of higher education activities, including subject specific sessions.  

Uni Insight Days 

Come and visit us on campus – we offer bespoke taster days, with a typical programme including HE talks and workshops alongside subject taster sessions in our specialist facilities.
