Biomedical applications of polymers and nanocomposites
Figure 1. A flexible, sustained release open wound dressing currently being developed.
The PCAS group have developed a number of materials for use in the biomedical arena including
- injectable hydrogels for regeneration of damaged invertebral discs
- injectable hydrogels for the regeneration of bone in (non-union) fractures
- controlled release open wound dressings
- shape memory materials with the potential for in-vivo uses
Each of these materials are at different stages of development
