The interests of the Polymers, Composites and Spectroscopy Group (PCAS) encompass polymers, minerals and composites.

The PCAS group routinely applies quantitative vibrational (infrared and Raman) spectroscopy and microscopy together with thermal analysis, x-ray diffraction and electron microscopy to obtain an in-depth knowledge of the key structure-property relationships which can be used to optimise the key properties of the material being developed.
