Human Robot Co-working
Director of study: Prof. Jacques Penders
Additional information: Open to all Students; Self funded
The concept of Human Robot Co-working entails robots working in close proximity to human co-workers. The robots increase the productivity of human workers, whilst simultaneously reducing the risk of workplace injury – for example due to repetitive heavy lifting.
Human robot co-working implies that a robot enters the personal workspace and comfort zones of the human co-worker. Introducing robots in manufacturing processes, although not a new phenomenon still makes humans feel threatened and losing control of their environment.
The project focuses on aiming to overcome the lack of confidence on the side of the human co-worker by implementing robot behaviours that are understandable for the human co-worker.
