Overview of the workshop

This free workshop will introduce the main concepts of image processing and computer vision and elucidate how these are typically integrated in a machine vision system used in an industrial application.

Machine Vision is the application of computer vision to industry and manufacturing. It can be used to monitor a production line, detect faults, automate certain aspects of an industrial process and provide quality control. In the food engineering industry, machine vision can be employed for numerous reasons such as controlling machines used in the food production, inspecting food for quality control purposes and sorting and grading.

A number of different case studies in the food industry will also be presented offering food practitioners and managers an opportunity of understanding how relevant image processing and computer vision technologies are applied and demonstrating important issues that need to be taken into account during any implementation.

As an introductory offer, this workshop is free to attend. To confirm your place, please complete our online booking form.
