Film, Television, Theatre and Performance Research Network

What is the Film, Television, Theatre and Performance Research Network?

Based in the Sheffield Creative Industries Institute, the Research Network provides a cross-university, inter-college forum for the presentation and dissemination of research (including creative practice as research) in the cognate areas of Film, Television, Theatre and Performance, and for the stimulus of collaboration in these fields.

Who are we?

There are currently 50 members of the FTTP Research Network. In addition to members from the Humanities (English, History, Stage and Screen) the group also includes staff and postgraduate students from the departments of Built Environment, Education, Media Arts and Communication, Psychology, Sociology and Politics, and the Sheffield Business School, along with a number of external colleagues including from the University of Sheffield and the University of Leeds.

What do we do?

The first meeting of the FTTP Research Network took place in 2015-16, with four members presenting papers. Read abstracts of the papers presented at that meeting here (PDF, 530KB).
A regular series of research seminars, along with occasional special events, is being organised for 2016-17.
