Understanding student progression and identifying ways to improve the student experience.
As Higher Education funding continues to be reduced, understanding student progression and identifying ways to improve the student experience are vital to the student, institution and state. Finding ways to understand student progression and improve student experience have become integral to a university corporate plan.
Our understanding of student problems, regarding student progression and the student experience, initially comes from a number of face-to-face interviews with undergraduate students (at Sheffield Hallam University) and a university wide online survey.
Our research focuses on using Data Warehousing and Data Mining to understand undergraduate student behaviour in relation to achievement and progression.
