Research Degree Project
Classical Tamil is the oldest surviving language in the world. In this IT savvy world, in addition to investigating the approaches towards voice to text technology in Tamil, I wanted to evaluate the user acceptance of Tamil Software by the native Tamil speakers.
The pride of being a native speaker of one of the oldest languages and the position of Tamil within the IT world along with a few personal experiences motivated me to take up this PhD research.
I have had one article selected for publication by the International Journal of Humanities and Social Science, USA, and my research paper titled 'Attitude of Tamil speakers towards Tamil Computing' was chosen as one of the best papers at the 13th International Tamil Internet Conference held at Puducherry in 2014.
