Post Industrial Manufacturing will change the very nature of design
For a number of years now, I have been considering the impact of new and emerging technologies in computer aided design and direct digital manufacture. The implications are incredible. Post Industrial Manufacturing will change the very nature of design, the way we teach design, and the relationship of consumers to products. I lead the research group on Post Industrial Manufacturing, and have spoken around the world on the subject. The group's research projects have produced book sections, journal articles, academic papers and public exhibitions of radical design work.
The most recent exhibition was Automake and FutureFactories, held at
Hub, the National Centre for Craft and Design in 2008.
