Cousin Marriage and Genetic Risk: Insight and Development Work
Insight and design work with Pakistani community in Leeds around genetic risks of marrying your cousin. In collaboration with H&W
The project is a piece of insight work exploring levels of knowledge and attitudes among members of the Pakistani 'community' in Leeds in relation to consanguinity and risk of recessive genetic disorders. Findings inform the development of an approach to raising community genetic literacy. The project results in the production of prototype communication tools and a communication strategy.
