Esther Johnson's film 'Asunder' screening at HOME Manchester
Esther Johnson's poetic documentary feature film 'Asunder' will be screened at HOME in Manchester in February. Using contemporary and archive footage, Asunder tells the story of what happened to a quintessential town in the North East during the First World War. The soundtrack for the film is composed by Field Music and Warm Digits, performing with the Royal Northern Sinfonia and the Cornshed Sisters. The work premiered in July at Sunderland Empire and has featured on BBC 6 Music, in The Guardian and Sunderland Echo. Future screenings and performances in 2017 include the Barbican, London.
