Presenter: Dr Martin Lamb, Sheffield Hallam University
Martin is a Research Associate within the Centre for Behavioural Science and Applied Psychology. His background is in Sport and Exercise Psychology, with a particular interest in the promotion of physical activity, with his PhD focusing on reducing sedentary behaviour in the workplace. Martin’s work primarily focuses on exploring behaviour change and the promotion of positive lifestyle changes. Projects Martin is currently working on include exploring physical inactivity in Doncaster, the role of healthcare professionals in promoting physical activity in primary care, and how physical activity can be promoted in people living with HIV. As part of his role, he works closely with the Behavioural Science Consortium, a unique venture in which academics from Sheffield Hallam University and the University of Manchester, provide the UK Government and the public sector with behavioural science insights. Martin is also a volunteer for The Change Exchange, in which he is working on a project exploring how to tackle antimicrobial resistance in Northern Ghana.
