Our researchers have created a VR game which is helping burns victims cope with painful medical procedures

Researchers in our Cultural Communication and Computing Research Institute have been working with burns patients to test whether virtual reality headsets can reduce their pain.

Patients were given a VR game to play while they had their dressings changed. They reported that the pain was substantially reduced when they were immersed in the VR world created by a team of researchers led by Ivan Phelan.

In this video, patient Megan Moxon talks about her experiences.
