SECTION 3 SUPPORTING YOUR ENGAGEMENT

10.We recognise that you may be balancing your studies with the demands of difficult and complex life circumstances and that it is not always possible to engage with your course. This may be due to illness, caring responsibilities, or other exceptional circumstances.

11.You must make us aware of any circumstances that are impacting your ability to engage as soon as possible. We can then offer support in a timely way. Discuss any concerns with your Academic Adviser or with your Student Support Adviser by emailing hallamhelp@shu.ac.uk or calling 0114 225 2222.

12.Please refer to the Extensions and Exceptional Circumstances Policy and Procedure and Assessment Support for Students with Learning Contracts for more information on what you need to do if you are experiencing circumstances that impact your ability to engage with your assessments.

13.You should refer to the Break in Study Policy and Procedure and discuss with your Student Support Adviser if your circumstances are impacting your ability to engage in teaching and learning.
