What is it for? Visual Paradigm is a software tool for those in software development to model business information systems and manage development processes. The academic version has no difference in functionality to the full version.

You should then visit the 'Older versions' page on the Visual Paradigm website (found under 'Other download'), and select the link corresponding with your operating system for version 16. Once you have installed the software, you will be given the opportunity to select licence type. Here, you should select Academic Licence, enter the key from IT Service Desk and your email in format username@student.shu.ac.uk (e.g. b7654321@student.shu.ac.uk).
General Terms of Use: You must be a currently enrolled student. You can use the software for educational and non-commercial use. The licence is for your use and you must not share this with anyone. The licence has a yearly renewal in January and expires as soon as you cease to be a student with us.
How can I get support?
- Visual Paradigm offers a dedicated support site, with tutorials, learning guides, online training and other ways to get support.
- Your tutor can also offer advice if they have asked you to use the software.
- The University's IT Service Desk does not offer support on this software on personal devices.
