There's lots of information to help you get the most out IT, including free software and access to LinkedIn Learning's full library of training courses

If you're in the library and need help with IT, you can use Chat for Help or ask at the library Helpdesk. Otherwise, please use one of the methods of contact below.

Self Service Portal (log a request)

  • For all requests relating to IT Services, e.g. software requests, home space increase requests etc
  • Always available (requests are dealt with during working hours only, resolution times may vary)
  • Submit a support request online

Telephone

  • For urgent issues where you may need immediate help (calls may be recorded for training or monitoring purposes)
  • Always available (requests actioned in working hours only)
  • By phone on 0114 225 3333 (choose option 2)
  • Please ensure you have good reception if using a mobile, are in a quiet place and ideally, at a computer.

Live Chat

  • For urgent and general issues.
  • Ideal if you do not have access to a phone.
  • We can access your computer remotely to look at a problem with you.
  • Available 09:00 - 17:00 weekdays
  • Connect with us at live chat support page go.shu.ac.uk/chat 

Twitter

  • Stay up to date with ongoing issues and big changes that might impact IT services.
  • Tweet us or send us a Direct Message to be contacted by our team.
  • Available 09:00 - 17:00 weekdays
  • During major changes, updates may be more frequent but messages will not be responded to outside of these hours.
