Each of the University's three colleges employs a team of technical and professional services staff. The size, shape and structure of these teams vary according to the business of the college, although their function remains the same: to support academics and students with their teaching and research activities.

These teams provide specialist support for teaching, learning and research activities to ensure they run smoothly. This can be anything from preparing resources, operating large specialist laboratories and quantity surveying, to setting up early years classrooms and running large kitchens.

Technical teams frequently have responsibility for related areas such as managing college accommodation, health and safety, contingency planning and capital planning.
