Sheffield Hallam is a large and diverse university with ambition and a simple mission: we transform lives.
Education and research are the main reasons we're here, and we have hundreds of teaching and research staff. But it takes a much wider range of people and teams to help us succeed.
Many jobs involve supporting students to help them get the best out of their studies and their time with us. These include administration, libraries, IT, student advice, careers, exam support, sporting facilities, campus cafes and security.
Our academic staff perform a vital role, transferring knowledge, instilling enthusiasm for the subject and giving students the best possible educational experience. We strive for teaching that’s both academically stimulating and informed by contemporary practice.
Research is a major aspect of what we do. Our thriving community of researchers works at local, national and international scale, aided by vital support staff who help with tasks from research administration to developing funding applications.
There’s a huge amount of work required to make sure all our students and staff get the best possible experience while they’re here. From cleaning, catering and maintaining our buildings to human resources, business engagement, finance, marketing and communications, to caring for children in our nursery, it takes a huge range of skills and experience to provide services and support that we can be proud of.
