We offer competitive rates of pay and a yearly pay increase. The majority of our people are on our pay and grading structure, and so move up one increment on a yearly basis (below the standard grade maximum), subject to performance.
We’ve committed to pay the real Living Wage to all our people. This includes employees in training roles, such as student placements and apprentices, as well as those on the single pay spine. We update our minimum pay rate to match the real Living Wage each January.
Pension
All our people benefit from leading occupational pension schemes. Our main ones are defined benefit schemes, providing excellent benefits.
Depending on the job you're appointed to, you will be automatically entered into either the Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS) for non-academic staff, or the Teachers' Pension Scheme (TPS) for academic staff.
If you’re a member of the Universities Superannuation Scheme (USS) directly before joining us, you can choose to remain in USS instead.
We also offer the opportunity to join the National Employment Savings Trust (Nest), a defined contribution scheme, if you choose to opt out of the LGPS or TPS.
