Harry Preston is an LLM International Sports Law in Practice graduate and has recently accepted a post at Nottingham Forest Football Club as Football Operations Manager. He oversees the day-to-day operations of the team, as well as ensures that both players and staff have the best opportunity to perform.
During Harry’s time at Sheffield Hallam, he gained knowledge that he can now apply in his role:
“The module and practical work carried out during the course was extremely relevant to my current role as a lot of the content was football based, whether it was contractual obligations, developing awareness of marketing and sponsorship agreements or an understanding of the various elements of Football Finance.”
We asked Harry what he enjoyed the most about the course:
“The best part of the course for me was the practical learning that we carried out each week within the modules. Despite being an online course, the weekly interactions with your course mates where you put forward arguments and really test yourself is something that I found most useful, especially when transitioning into professional football where each decision can be crucial.”
Harry has also kindly shared with us his advice for those thinking about joining the course:
“I wanted to diversify my learning having never previously undertaken any law degree or course. This course allowed me to do that and was set out in a way that ensured new students to law could catch up on the basic knowledge as well as develop a greater understanding of sport specific case law. The online aspect of the course allowed me to carry on full time employment alongside my studies which has helped me develop professionally without having to take a break.”
Following the success in 2020-2021, the LLM International Sports Law students again in 2021-22 unanimously decided that they are 100% satisfied with the course. Would you like to join us? Check the website to find out more!
