Attendance

Students must attend the placement for the whole period that they have been allocated to their placements.  Students must be present for the whole day/shift on all dates assigned to them by their placement provider.

Students must agree their weekly placement pattern with their allocated placement provider/supervisor/mentor. They will attend their allocated placement for the whole day/s each week and agree annual leave dates in advance. Holidays are not included towards placement days.

Art Therapy students can record up to 2 days sick leave in the Daily Attendance log.  If further days are required off sick an extension to the placement needs to be negotiated with the placement supervisor.  Please inform the Art Therapy placement leads should an extension be necessary due to sickness.

It is essential that you must familiarise yourself and comply with the Placement Attendance requirements, and that you maintain a record of your attendance on placement using the Daily Attendance Log (DOCX, 158.5KB).

Where 'placement supervisor' is referred to, it should be understood as including the 'mentor' where applicable.

Reporting Absence

It is essential that students report sickness absence to the university and your placement provider as soon as possible when you know that you will be unable to attend your placement.
