Your graduation checklist

We can’t wait to celebrate your big day with you. To make sure you have everything in place, follow our eight-step graduation checklist.

VISA SUPPORT

If you’re an international student, find out about visa requirements when travelling from overseas.

Visa support letters for graduates and guests can be downloaded through My Student Record. For help with visa applications please contact the International Experience Team.

 

1. Check your details

  • Make sure your details are correct in the My Details section of My Student Record.
  • Check your personal email address is up to date. We need this so we can send you important information about graduation once your student email address expires.

2. Book your tickets

  • When your award has been confirmed, we'll email to let you know you can book your tickets. You must book tickets to attend your ceremony.
  • Find out how many tickets you can have, how much they cost and how to book.

3. Order your gown

  • Book your gown through Ede & Ravenscroft. They're collected and fitted on the day of your ceremony at Owen Building, City Campus.
  • Before booking, make sure you have your height, head and chest measurements ready.

Gowns are not compulsory, but most graduates wear them as the ceremony is a formal event.

4. Pre-order photos

  • To avoid queuing on the day, pre-order your graduation photos through Ede & Ravenscroft.
  • There’s no deadline to order photos and you can buy them on the day if you prefer.

7. Download or print your tickets

  • Bring a print or digital copy of all your tickets with you to your ceremony. We’ll email you when they’re available.
  • You can download your tickets a week before your ceremony from the ‘My e-Ticket’ link on My Student Record. Don't forget to give your guests their tickets – they'll need these to get into the Graduation Hall.
