St Luke's Projects

St Luke's Projects

In a series of collaborative projects with St Luke's - Sheffield's Hospice, our students have contributed fresh perspectives on various crucial topics. Their work ranges from proposing new marketing strategies to creating publications and hosting fashion shows. These student projects are significantly impacting the healthcare and charity sectors within our city, and are supporting our local communities.

Designing for the End

In a challenging and thought-provoking project, our MA Design students explored themes related to Death and End-of-Life. They were supported by St Luke’s Hospice and the SHU Chaplaincy team to delve into issues like death anxiety, attitudes towards end-of-life, and cultural traditions. The outcomes of the project included publications, poster designs, and interactive spaces.

Worn Again

To support and promote St Luke's charity retail sector as well as the wider pre-loved clothing industry, first-year BA (Hons) Fashion Design and BA (Hons) Fashion Management and Communication students collaborated to organise a fashion show event with an accompanying exhibition. The students reworked and restyled a collection of black garments provided by St Luke's, demonstrating the potential of pre-loved clothes.
