Sheffield Museums Projects

Our students, in collaboration with the Sheffield Museums Trust, have actively engaged with the local arts and culture. They've creatively and thoughtfully responded to Sheffield's rich history and cultural heritage, offering their unique perspectives and ideas. Their contributions, in the form of exhibitions and events within the city, have enriched the local cultural scene and offered them valuable practical experiences and professional development opportunities.

Millennium Galleries

In a multidisciplinary project, our students from BA (Hons) Acting and Performance, BA (Hons) Creative Writing, BA (Hons) Film and TV, and MA Creative Writing collaborated with Sheffield Museums Trust and Screen Yorkshire. They created responses to artworks and artefacts from the Sheffield Museums collection at Millennium Galleries. The project concluded with an engaging event featuring poetry, short films, documentaries, and audio pieces.

In Response

In this inspiring exhibition, BA (Hons) Fine Art students selected pieces from the Sheffield Museums Trust collection. They then created their own artworks, sculptures, and installations in response, using a broad range of creative mediums. These project outcomes were displayed at Yorkshire Art Space Persistence Works and explored themes based on the students' personal interpretations of the artworks they chose.
