Information on why you may not see the link to apply for the Student Success Scholarship.

I cannot see the scholarships section in My Student Record

You may not be logged into My Student Record correctly, to fix this:

  • Log out of My Student Record.
  • Log in and select the title of your course (you may see different options that look similar).
  • Log out and log in selecting a different course option each time until you can see the scholarships section.

If you still cannot see the scholarships section after trying all the course options, it may mean that:

  • you are not fully enrolled in the current academic year, or
  • you are not eligible to apply.

If you think you may not be fully enrolled, check My Student Record to see if you have any outstanding enrolment tasks, or contact Hallam Help and they will provide information about the actions you need to take.

I cannot see the link to apply

You will only be able to see the link to the Student Success Scholarship application form if you are eligible to apply.

There are several reasons why you may not be eligible to apply and, therefore, why you are not able to see the link.

  • You have not been means tested by your student funding body – This is one of the most common reasons why students are not able to apply. If you have not been means tested or would like more information on how to be means tested, please contact Student Finance England or your national student funding body (‘Means testing’ is the term used for when your student funding body assesses your household income to work out how much maintenance loan you are entitled to). Please note that being means tested will not guarantee eligibility for the Student Success Scholarship, your household income still needs to be less than £62,347.
  • Your household income is more than £62,347 – If you believe that your household income has not been assessed correctly, there has been a change in your circumstances or change in your household income, please contact Student Finance England or your student funding body to let them know.
  • You have already received an award – If you have already received an award from the Student Success Scholarship in the current academic year, you will not be able to apply again until the next academic year.
  • You are studying a course that is eligible for a teacher education scholarship/bursary, the NHS Training Grant or Social Work Bursary – If you are studying one of these courses but are not eligible for a scholarship, bursary or grant, please let us know by contacting Hallam Help.
  • You are currently on a placement year – Other financial support may be available to you via the Placement Bursary.
  • You are studying a postgraduate course – The Student Success Scholarship is only available to students on undergraduate courses.
  • You are an international student – The Student Success Scholarship is only available to students with a home fee status.
