Why register
Registering is important as it tells us you would like to access support with your studies and will enable us to understand more about your disability.
When
Applicants: if you disclosed a disability on your university application you will be invited by email to register before you enrol. You don't have to wait until enrolment to register for support.
Enrolled students: you can register for support at any time during your studies.
Who
We support anyone who thinks they may need additional support with their studies due to any disability or long-term health condition including physical, mental health conditions or sensory impairments, neurodivergence and specific learning difficulties such as Dyslexia. A formal diagnosis is not always needed. If you’re not sure if you have a disability, get in touch.
How
Applicants: Your invite to register email will instruct you on how to activate and log in to My Student Record.
Enrolled students: You can register with Disabled Student Support by logging into My Student Record.
During registration you can select some adjustments to include in your Learning Contract, without needing to provide disability documents.
It is important however that you book an appointment to speak to a Disability Adviser when advised, to discuss what other reasonable adjustments you need for the learning, teaching and assessment on your course.
During registration you can upload the following disability documents if you have them:
Disability evidence
Disabled Students' Allowance (DSA) documents if you have applied for DSA
If you don’t have this evidence when you register, you can email it to us later.
What we do with your data
We understand that the decision to disclose your disability or long-term condition can be difficult. We store your information securely and will only share relevant information with your permission.
