- Coloboma
- Diabetes-related eye conditions
- Glaucoma
- Keratoconus
- Nystagmus
- Retinitis pigmentosa
- Stargardt disease

Support offered
If you have a visual impairment or sight loss, your Disability Adviser will discuss your needs with you an provide support through a learning contract.
Learning contract support may include:
- Arrangements for teaching materials, exam papers and core reading materials to be made available in alternative formats
- access to RNIB Bookshare
- adjustments to groupwork and presentations
- extensions on coursework.
We can support you to apply for funded support such as:
- computer equipment
- magnification/ text-to-speech software
- a printer/scanner
- a recording device/software
- support workers such a Notetaker, Sighted Guide, Mobility Trainer or a Specialist Support Professional to support you to overcome barriers to your learning by helping you to develop strategies, effective planning and preparation to get the most out of your studies.
Evidence requirements
To get support, you will need to provide a copy of a letter from your GP or healthcare professional with details of your diagnosis or working diagnoses.
