This is added to sub pages to display the current page, child items and navigation links. The tertiary navigation is added to content pages automatically but is not present on listing detail pages such as news items.

Hiding a page from the tertiary navigation

Navigate to the page you want to remove from the tertiary navigation in the content tree. Check ‘hide from navigation’ in the ‘navigation’ section of the page item. Publish your page as normal.
