Information for Parents
The Student Wellbeing service will do everything possible to help students in difficulty, although it does not have parental responsibility and can only offer support if approached by the student themselves. In the rare cases where a student is thought to be at risk, appropriate action will be taken by relevant staff.
Student Wellbeing staff are always willing to talk to parents who are concerned about their son or daughter whilst they are studying at Sheffield Hallam. However, due to the University’s compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation our own Confidentiality Policy, we cannot disclose whether someone is using our service or is a student here.
We can, however, talk to parents about the support offered by our service and elsewhere in the University so that they can pass the information to their son or daughter.
