Diving into practical case studies, you’ll refine your analytical skills so you can tackle industry challenges head-on. You’ll gain expertise to apply to diverse cultural contexts, emerging as a proficient professional ready to make meaningful contributions to the global tourism and hospitality sector.

You’ll also gain insights into industry practices, sharpen your problem-solving abilities, and enhance your communication and teamwork skills.

Previous students have worked on analysing and developing the hospitality offer of the Yorkshire Sculpture Park, the leading international centre for modern and contemporary sculpture. They gained a valuable understanding of the complexities of managing hospitality services within a prestigious cultural institution.

Field trips

Field trips are a perfect way to put theory into practice while developing lifelong connections with your fellow students and tutors. One of the most popular field trips our hospitality students have enjoyed recently was a two-day visit to Malton's food market and York – with insightful talks from the hotel manager and a ghost tour.
