Work Placement Route
For international students wishing to undertake a placement as part of this course, you must apply to the work experience route. Transferring to the work experience route later will not be possible due to visa restrictions.

This course is accredited by ILM and upon successful completion of the MBA you will also receive an ILM Level 7 Diploma in Leadership and Management. You will also be able to showcase this ‘dual achievement’ though you very own Digital Badge, which will display detailed information of both your degree and ILM achievements.
As ILM have a partnership with the Institute of Leadership and Management you will be entitled to activate one year of ‘Student Membership’ to the Institute and access a variety of digital resources to support you with programme completion. Successful graduates can apply for full professional membership of the Institute of Leadership and Management (all applications are subject to professional body approval and work experience).

Applied learning
We think the best way to learn something is to do it in the real world. That means putting learning into practice on placements, internships and real-world consultancy projects – arranged through our global network of leading businesses.
Placements
You’ll have the opportunity to arrange a year-long work placement before you commence your final MBA Applied Business Investigation module. This gives you valuable work experience to prepare you for your future career – as well as an opportunity to complete your Applied Business Investigation based on an organisation you have worked with.
We’ll support you to source a placement that is relevant to your course. Throughout your placement, you’ll be supported to reflect on your experience and contribution to the organisation you work for. You'll also share your progress and achievements with your Placement Academic Supervisor as part of your final assessment.
Live Projects
We bring the 'real' business world into your learning experience through the use of live case studies. Together, we’ll analyse organisations, explore the challenges they face and discover what makes them successful.
You’ll also have the opportunity to work with leading businesses on client-sponsored projects that are aligned to your professional interests and ambitions.

You’ll engage in learning across our Extended Campus which includes flexible physical and digital spaces to support applied learning, working, teaching and collaborating. On campus in Sheffield, our Business School will be your home space – with areas to meet peers, complete course activities and meet staff and employers.
A variety of physical small and large group teaching settings will be used. Digital learning will be used alongside on-campus learning, including our Virtual Learning Environment, digital media, online teaching and collaboration tools.
Entry requirements
All students
You need a 2.2 honours degree or equivalent.
If English is not your first language you will need an IELTS score of 6.5 overall and a minimum of 6.0 in all skills, or a recognised equivalent. If your English language skill is currently below this level, we recommend you complete a Sheffield Hallam University Pre-sessional English course which will enable you to achieve the required English level.
We assess applications on merit and we can advise you about this process before you apply. If you are unsure whether you meet these requirements then we recommend that you contact us for guidance.
If you do not have such academic qualifications we may consider your application individually, based on your personal, professional and work experience, and other formal qualifications. Our tuition fee for UK students starting full-time study in 2024/25 is £16,165 for the course.
If you are studying an undergraduate course, postgraduate pre-registration course or postgraduate research course over more than one academic year then your tuition fees may increase in subsequent years in line with Government regulations or UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) published fees. International students
Our tuition fee for International/EU students starting full-time study in 2024/25 is £19,765 for the course.
Postgraduate student loans
Up to £12,471 is available in 2024/25 for home students on most masters courses.
